Jill Dorsett's Bio:

Jill Dorsett began her career in education over twenty years ago as a special education teacher and went on to assume multiple leadership roles including middle and high school assistant principal and principal as well as district administrator in school districts throughout Florida and Georgia. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Florida and the University of Southern Mississippi respectively. Jill has dedicated her talent and energy to ensure a high quality education for children of all walks of life and socioeconomic groups. She has demonstrated the ability to help close the achievement gap, raise test scores, and improve the scholastic achievement of kindergarten through twelfth grade students. Her teams have focused on continuous improvement across the curriculum and school by identifying specific areas for enhancement and implementing the necessary changes. She attributes student success to teachers that are passionate about the success of all students, data analysis, continuous progress monitoring, collaboration, and standards-based instruction. Jill is a 2013 graduate of the National SUPES Academy, whose mission is to identify, develop, and support a new generation of outstanding leaders for America's school systems who will provide our children with the skills they need to live as successful adults in a world of global competition. Jill will use the knowledge gained from her experience in the National SUPES Academy to continue her current work in the field of education and future aspirations of some day leading an education institution to sustainable global readiness.

Jill Dorsett's Experience:

  • Founder/CEO at SO4S Tutoring

    Responsible for the day to day management of a results-oriented tutoring company serving students in grades K-12. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: payroll, personnel, professional development, data analysis, monitoring program implementation, ensuring sufficient human, financial, technological, informational, and material resources are available to carry out organizational goals.

  • Principal at DeKalb County School System

    Provided instructional and fiscal leadership for students and staff of a Title I middle school. Collaboratively developed an instructional framework that invigorated teaching and learning, inspired high expectations, incorporated essential goals, and illuminated the importance of ensuring student progress on the curriculum standards.

  • Principal at Sarasota County School District

    Provided academic, instructional, and fiscal leadership for a suburban high school serving the needs of 1750 students and 160 staff members. Responsible for an annual budget of $775,000.00.

  • Assistant Principal at Orange County Public Schools

    Oversaw curriculum and instruction, staff supervision and evaluation, support services, professional development, student discipline, business services, and community relations.

  • Assistant Principal at Polk County School District

    Oversaw curriculum and instruction, staff supervision and evaluation, support services, professional development, student discipline, business services, and community relations.

  • Teacher at Polk County School District
